Forever Devoted (Crazed Devotion #2) ~ C.A. Harms

A stubborn man, an independent woman.
Oh how those two things clash.

Former Marine, Benjamin Keaton has a drive in him.
A strong willed nature to seek and conquer.

When he meets Elizabeth Berfield he finds out one thing and he finds out fast.
He has met his match.

She doesn't let anyone tell her what to do, especially a man.

A battle of wills and a game of survival unfolds. Oh what a ride it is.

But Ben vows one thing,

He will be Forever Devoted to Liz. He will make her see that he is the man for her.

But will his determination be enough to convince her that he’s worth the risk?

Or will Liz do what she always does and remain headstrong and push away the one man willing to protect her heart.

I just love Liz and Ben. They are both stubborn, headstrong and completely head over heels for each other. Liz will never admit it and Ben is trying to play it right to get her to admit to her feelings. The sexual frustration is through the roof and electric.

Both of their pasts have shaped them in to the people they are. While Liz is still trying to compare everything to her past, Ben is able to recognize the strong feelings and great person that Liz is. Liz's friends and family continue to try to convince her that Ben is not like a certain man in her past, but it takes several tragedies before she is able to consider taking down her walls.

I just love CA Harm's books. The characters are well written and the story just flows. I can't put the book down, nor would I want to. I get completely invested in her character's lives, which is a testament to how well she writes.  Another great addition to her work and I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

Damien: I am Damien Cole. Manager of Dallas' Top Tattoo Shop "The Boneyard." I play the game by my own set of rules. I discard women left and right. Their only purpose is to cater to my sexual appetite. No woman will ever tame my bad boy ways. I am at the top of my game. Summer: I am Summer Montgomery. My face has graced magazine covers all across the world. My looks will deceive you. I am a bad girl with a smart ass mouth and the attitude to back it up. Playing with me is like playing with fire. I will consume you and swallow you whole. When faced with temptation, which of these two badasses will fall first?

Usually, I gravitate towards the heroine of the story and feel all her emotions, frustrations, etc. Unfortunately, Summer fell short for me. She was so stubborn and so selfish, that I got annoyed with her. I guess that is testament to the author’s writing that she wanted me to see Summer as a dramatic and selfish person. She did a great job on that.

Damien, on the other hand, hit all the right buttons. Sexy and tattooed, sign me up. Maybe its just me and I have a thing for the wounded bird, but I felt really disappointed that Summer didn't fight more for Damien. Don't get me wrong. Damien is messed up and was not by any means perfect, but he had a lot to work through before he could bare his soul to Summer.

When I got to about 60% in, I started to enjoy the story more, but there was still this niggling feeling about Summer. Her views were unrealistic and she tried to be a hard ass so much that it pushed Damien and almost her mother away. Summer's mother is a Saint BTW. Just saying.

The overall chemistry and sex was hot. There was definitely a fire between Summer and Damien, but want too much game playing. It was exhausting. I did have some confusion on names here and there, since I think they changed a couple times in the story, but overall, it was a good story line. Just fell a little flat for me.
