So I know I’ve said this before, but I am a huge C.A. Harms fan. I have read most of her work and Revenge did not disappoint. The writing, the development of the characters and the conclusion was everything I hoped for.

The constant living in fear for Gabby and Josh was palpable. I could feel the tension and strain through the pages. I was extremely impressed with how patient Gabby was with Josh’s obsession to find Leo. There were times I could feel her loneliness and despair, but she stayed strong and leaned on her sisters. Josh was so determined to protect Gabby and their baby that he ended up obsessed and distant. I get it, but I’m glad he had his fellow agents; friends really, pull his head out of his ass every now and again.

This story was suspenseful and dramatic. There were twits that made me want to throw my kindle and some super-hot scenes that made me want to stand in front of a fan for a bit. Whew. Loved it. 

Hooker (L.A. Liaisons #2) ~ Brooke Blaine

Whoever said singles were missing out by not finding true love and getting married before the age of thirty had never experienced the sheer pleasure of nightly romantic comedy viewings in their underwear while eating one of Licked’s famous Crazy Cat Lady sundaes. Because life just doesn’t get better than that. 

At least, it doesn’t for Shayne Callahan. It didn’t take more than a handful of broken hearts after college to solidify that she was better at pairing up those around her than herself. As a matchmaker at the elite HLS—Hook, Line, & Sinker Matchmaking Company—in the City of Angels, she has a knack for finding the other halves of even the most eccentric clients:

Sugar daddy with a foot fetish? Gross, but no problem.

A severe case of nudophobia? Match made before lunch.

But even the most happily independent of women can find their best-laid plans screeching to a halt when they meet that guy. For Shayne, that guy comes in the form of boyishly handsome, suspender-lovin’, dimple-poppin’ Nate Ryan on a pantsless (we’ll get to that later) Metro ride. 

Of course, relationships can never be easy. Before the destined lovers can ride off into the sunset, they must overcome a power-hungry and sexual-punning boss, a celebrity scandal and cover-up, and let’s not forget Shayne’s dreadful foot-in-mouth disease—with which there can never be a happily ever after. 

Will fate throw Shayne a freakin’ bone? Or will she be destined to live out her life as sexy(ish), single(ish), and L.A.’s finest Hooker.

What a fun and sexy read! I completely love Brooke’s characters in the L.A. Liaison series. I feel like my friends and I could hang with these ladies. They are all independent, strong women, but they belong to this group of girls and each of them contributes something to their crew.

Shayne and Nate. Gah! That chemistry, the sparks that flew. I wanted to smack Shayne a couple times for being so rough with him, but apparently Nate liked the challenge since he kept coming back for more. He’s persistent, stubborn and sexy as hell. Exactly what Shayne needs.

Let’s get to the only thing I disliked about Hooker…..Shayne’s boss Val. That woman is a B*&ch!! I hated how she treated Shayne and wanted to punch her in the throat several times. She is just a nasty person and I’m wondering what happened to her to make her that way. I guess it’s just a testament to Brooke’s writing to make me feel so strongly (in a negative sense) about a character.

Not giving too much away, I’m extremely proud of Shayne and truly feel she followed her own path. She did her best to make it on her own and took so much pride in her work that she stuck at a job for years that paid her crap. But she kept at it because she loved what she did and she did it for the couples she worked with. That takes determination and pride. Shayne kicks ass.

Nate’s not too shabby either. He had a lot of obstacles to go through to hook Shayne. It wasn’t an easy pursuit, but he kept at it. He was sweet, romantic, but also was one of the people who felt Shayne needed to get away from her boss (but supported whatever she decided).

Hooker was fun, sexy and also touched my heart. People were hurt, treated terribly, but also loved fiercely.  I cannot wait for the next in the series.

CA Harms does it again!!  I loved Jackson’s Destiny!

Jackson is the sexy, strong cowboy that a city girl like Bailey shouldn’t get involved with. I mean, he was a complete ladies man and almost did her against the barn one night. Granted, it would have been seriously hot and totally worth it, but everything happens for a reason.

Bailey is not looking for anything serious. After her best friend’s mother basically breaks up her parent marriage, oh and by the way, Bailey still hasn’t told said best friend, Jackson’s interest takes her by surprise. Well, not totally since they have been skirting around their attraction for some time, but Bailey did not anticipate how forward he would be.

After Jackson’s father passes away, he gets in a funk and the only thing that pulls him out is the need to take care of Bailey. Amber’s mother, Carla is in town and coupled with the funeral, which reminds her of her brother, it sets Bailey off. These circumstances bring Jackson and Bailey together, but you have to read to see if it is enough to keep them together. 

Cash (Sexy Bastard #2) ~ Eve Jagger

Eve Jagger does it again!! She sucks me right in with two fun, sassy and super sexy characters. I love Cash and Savy!!

Cash is a notorious “love ‘em and leave ‘em” type, which is all well and good, because after Savannah’s last relationship, she’s just looking for a guy to help her broken heart. Their friendship and quick wit quicvkly escalate to something more. Cash and Savy’s sexual chemistry is HOT, HOT, HOT!!

When it gets to the point where the innuendo’s and flirty just doesn’t do it anymore, Savy takes matters in to her own hands and gets what she wants…Cash. What she wasn’t ready for, was to believe that his demons were not things he wanted to lie to her about, but things he was ashamed of. His relationship with his parents sucked and he was just getting back in to his sisters good graces. Throw in a little of Savannah’s past and you have one cluster of drama.

Oh but the makeup sex is so, so good!!

Mason...... He’s a sexy Australian yoga instructor, with a killer accent and has respect for women. Can we say, super, sexy-sweet book boyfriend? His patience and restraint with Brooke is commendable. There were several times I thought Mason would cave, but he held true to his word.

Brooke is a beautiful and confident firecracker. She takes what she wants, and boy, does she want Mason. It’s great to see a strong female character who knows what she likes and doesn’t have problems expressing those desires. And screw anyone that tries to pull double standards on her!!

Like I said, I could not believe the restraint Mason showed while trying to get to know Brooke. I was so happy though, that she got to see what a good man would and could do for a good woman. They had the chemistry and they definitely have a wonderful love story. Sigh.

Sigh…. Oh how I love these Key West Boys!! Another great one by CA Harms. Hot guy with a tragic past and a sweet, generous, and beautiful woman, mixed in with some hot sex on top of ’67 Shelby Mustang… SWOON! 

Kade’s sad and tragic past has him just moving through life, not really living. He hit rock bottom once before and now only uses women as a means to an end. There’s no feeling. “It’s just sex.”

Avery has been holding out for Kade for over a year. While she knows he has a sad past, in no way does she realize how connected she already is to it. After a hot romp on the top of Kade’s gorgeous ’67 Shelby, we’re not too sure if the two will be able to salvage their friendship. 

Let’s be honest, Kade acted like an ass and while he doesn’t deserve Avery’s forgiveness, he needs it. He needs her to help him heal and get past the tragedy in his life so he can live again.
