Jagger (Broken Doll#2) ~Heather C. Leigh

I sell drugs. Heroin to be specific. And I'm fucking good at my job. Enough to fight my way to the top, controlling all of Austin's supply.

So what if I had to kill the previous boss to do it. I do what has to be done. Never cared about consequences because I never had anything to lose.

Until I met Miri. My doll. She's my weakness and somehow, my enemies found out about her.

If they hurt her, they will regret the day they ever heard my name. Boss. They call me Boss for a reason. What I say goes, including the price on the heads of anyone who dares to fuck with what belongs to me.

Jagger was just AWESOME! I loved this book. Not only do I get more of Miri and Jagger, there was some serious action and adventure in this book.
I am so flipping proud of Miri. Not only did she grow some major balls, but she was so freaking strong. She held on to hope, when there were times I didn’t think there was a way she would get back to Jag. She was motivating and inspiring and man, that woman never gave up!

If I didn’t love Jag before, I wouldn’t have had a chance after this book! Holy Hell. Not only is he sexy, fierce and scary, but he’s sweet, caring and absolutely in love with Miri. He worships the ground she walks on and it eats him alive that he can’t find her or get to her. But he never stops. His thirst for revenge is overwhelming and his love for Miri will survive anything…even possibly death.

I can’t say enough about Jagger. The suspense, the action, the dark places Heather took us too. I absolutely loved it!

Junkie (Broken Doll Book 1) ~ Heather C. Leigh

I'm a heroin addict. A junkie. A whore. I'll do anything to get my next fix.

Anything.

Including walking right onto the property of Austin's most ruthless and feared drug lord to beg for some H. I don't know his name, only that people call him Boss. Oh, and that he won't think twice to put a bullet in my head.

But like I said, I'll do anything to get my next fix. Even if it costs me my life.

Or changes it forever.

I’m a huge Heather C. Leigh fan, so when I saw that she was writing a dark romance (one of my fav, if not my fav type) I jumped at the chance. Junkie is gritty, raw, dark, sexy and suspenseful. To say you need to read this in an understatement.

Miri is the junkie. She will do anything for her next fix and I mean anything. There are some disgusting things that she is forced to do and it just shows the pull the H has on her. But she wasn’t always like this. When she is somewhat “normal” after her does is injected, we see the little spit fire she used to be. I loved her firey attitude, but it bothered me to see how much self loathing there was. I definitely think Heather nails the up and downs when it comes to addiction. Miri is all over the place at times and we see a glimpse of the struggles that addicts have. Her poor excuse for a boyfriend (term I use very loosely here) offers her a place to crash after she runs into some hard times and gets her addicted. He uses her and now her level of self deprecation is so high, she thinks every person wants to use her; that’s she is nothing or nobody. Boss man is actually the first person to look at her like she is worth something in a long, long time.

Boss, or Boss man, is a ruthless and scary drug lord. He’s hard core and doesn’t take shit from anyone. That is until Miri stumbles her way on to his property looking for a score. She reminds him of those he let down in his past. She’s become weak and someone that everyone takes advantage of. While he can she what a beautiful woman she once was, Boss is disgusted by the dirt and grime she has accumulated from this addiction. He can either kill her or help her. She could become his biggest weakness or he could use her to help his cause to stay at the top of the drug food chain.

I love the dynamic between the two characters.

Boss is sexy, strong and a complete bad ass. How could there not be sparks!?!
Their sexual tension is off the charts, but at first Miri doesn’t realize it because she is so down on herself.  Granted, there have been a few things said by Boss that has made her think this way as well, but it was out of context and not the way he meant them to be heard. Boss’s inner monologues definitely give us a bigger insight to why he is the way he is and what his true feelings for Miri are.

Boss doesn’t love himself either. He still beats himself up for the past he has had and the H he continues to deal. While making a ton of money, this is also the drug that destroyed his family’s lives. His mood swings, his internal battles, all stem from those he could help and from the strong feelings he has for Miri, which he tries to deny.

Boss’s right hand man, Milo, drives me crazy. I think there was a couple times I wanted to staple his mouth shut because he is a disrespectful ass. He needs to remember his place in the organization and leave Miri alone.

The action, angst, sexual tension and dark path that these two are taking together had me devouring their story. I couldn’t get enough. To be honest, I stalked Heather to see when we would get the next book, Jagger. So excited to read the rest of this dark duet!

Killer ~ Heather C. Leigh

UnthinKable. UnimagInable.  UndeniabLe.  UnforgivabLe.  SalvageablE.  Redeemable.

Ten years ago, their lives shattered to pieces...
And he's the KILLER that has to live with it.

Two people. One incident. Interwoven between two damaged souls in ways they don't understand.

***

"The fact I feel anything should let me know I’m headed in the wrong direction, headed down a path of darkness, destruction, and failure. A path that will dig out memories so painful I’ve created an entire persona to avoid dealing with them. Yet I know—I’m going down that path headfirst no questions asked, no matter the outcome.
I might be a monster, but I’m a selfish one."—Keller Keating

"When his strength envelops me, every wrong becomes right, every anxiety melts away, every doubt disappears. I feel calm, safe, whole. The spark of life that’s been missing inside burns bright, lighting me up like a solar flare, sizzling white-hot through my veins. Keller brings me out of the darkness and into the light."—Britton Reeves

OMG! I loved Killer. So, initially I wanted this book to be a standalone, but I loved the characters so much that now I want more.

Keller (Killer) I know was supposed to seem like a total dick, but he was in pain. He was suffering and that was the only way he knew how to cope. His guilt overwhelmed him and I could actually feel it coming off the pages. He hated himself so much that he would never believe he could deserve anything as good as Britt.

Britton is one kick-ass chick!! The battle she went through, not just with the incident, but with the recovery and her narcissistic mother, was something not many can overcome. I was filled with pride when reading all the things she accomplished and the other goals she set for herself. She is a truly beautiful person inside and out.

How, you ask, is it that two opposite ends to the spectrum collide? They both have this pull towards each other, while not really even realizing how interwoven their lives are. Well, not realizing until everything come crashing in and they are both left to deal with their pasts. Both pushed it aside for their own understandable reasons, but it could now push the two of them apart.

This book is about the victims of a tragedy; how they cope and deal with whatever life it is they have left. Many times the victims are forgotten about and the suspects are glorified. It drives me crazy. The way Heather was able to capture how the victims and their families moved forward got to me and hit me right in the feels. This book was written beautifully and I liked Heather’s move into a little darker of a story. Absolutely Excellent!

Strike (Sphere of Irony #2) ~ Heather C. Leigh

Privilege, poverty, death, and self-loathing; these are the backgrounds of the men of the internationally famous rock band, Sphere of Irony.

Dax Davies has one job to fulfill in the Davies household. Earn money at the family business. The problem is that the family business is illegal underground fighting.

From a young age, Dax and his brothers are groomed to become money earners in their father's club. Broken bones and bruises are commonplace. Their father pits the brothers against each other to 'toughen them up' for the ring. His future is in the cage, not on stage where he dreams of being.

Kate Campbell loves one thing in life. Well, two. Soccer and Dax Davies. Growing up in the poorest part of London, soccer is her personal escape from reality and the fact that Dax doesn't seem to know she exists. She figures if she can be good enough at it, maybe she can get away from Hackney, and leave the poverty behind.

Kate doesn't plan on ever getting a chance to know Dax as more than an unattainable dream. After a mutual acquaintance brings them together, it only takes one ill-fated night at the fight club tear them apart.

***This is book 2 in the Sphere of Irony Series. It can be read as a standalone. This is a spin-off of the Famous Series***

***This book is recommended for those 18+ due to language and content***

I love Heather C. Leigh's writing. Just like Adams's story, Dax's starts in high school and follows his and Kate's life. This story follows the same timeline as Adam and Ellie's story, but the focus is all Dax and Kate!! There are flash backs as we get in further in their lives, but you always know right where you are. Heather wrote a Rock Star story, with this series, that's unlike the others I've recently read.

Kate and Dax's story has angst, sexual tension and so much more emotion then Dax would like you to see. I understand our parents do things for reasons, but no one should have been brought up the way Dax was. I'm so happy that he was finally able to find his own way and rules.

PS-thank goodness that slag, Lila got hers! I wanted to beat her with my kindle!!!

I cannot wait to see what happens with the other Spear of Irony band mates!!

Ricochet: Extraction Point (Ricochet #3) ~ Heather C. Leigh

Rick "Ricochet" Brennan served eight years as an elite Marine special ops Force Recon soldier. After an injury, and the terrible memories from that night, he retires and goes to work for his former Command Officer, Howard "Mack" McEvoy, at his training center in Atlanta.

Sanctum MMA appears on the surface to be a normal gym, training elite fighters to be the best. Except each trainer, hand-picked by Mack, possesses a special background that allows Mack to run one of the best-kept secrets in the country.

When twenty-three year old Quinn Wallace finally escapes her abusive husband, she turns to her father’s old Marine Corps buddy, Mack, for help. Broken and skittish, Quinn finds herself surrounded by large, intimidating men— men who could easily overpower her. She avoids them the best she can, but when Rick turns out to be more than just a rough fighter with bruised knuckles, she finds herself wondering if she can allow herself to trust again.

Quinn and Rick kick ass! As frustrated as I was at them for their lack of communication and sharing of secrets, I loved seeing how strong Quinn truly was.

 photo Extraction Point_zpsabhcawar.jpg

In the conclusion to the series, we see what Quinn went through at the hands of her ex-husband…..the bastard. She went through so much emotional and physical abuse. I was so proud of her for fighting back and getting away from him!!

When Quinn goes missing, Rick will stop at nothing to find her and get her back. I can completely understand his freak outs, frustrations and anger as the minutes pass. I can also understand his rage and need to kill Quinn's ex.

I don't want to give away if Quinn is found or what happens to her ex-husband because.... You need to read this book! Action pack and dramatic through the whole story. Loved!!

Ricochet is a full-length novel to be released as three parts.

***This book contains hot sweaty men, sexy scenes for those over 18, and uncomfortable, sometimes violent scenes.***

Rick (Ricochet) Brennan is a sexy ex-Marine and a player. He gets his name by jumping from one woman's bed to the next. He never sleeps over and never goes after the same woman twice. Facing his own demons from his time as a Marine, he enjoys his secret ops job, which is run out the back of an MMA training gym. When he meets Quinn, there's something about her that draws him in.

Quinn (Annette Hardy) Wallace is a scared and damaged woman after her husband beat her down, physically and mentally. When encountering any male in her new home in Georgia (thanks to her father's old friend Mack), she becomes skittish and freaks out. Several times, while speaking to Rick, one minute she's having perfectly good conversation, but the next, she is cowering behind her hands and backing in to a corner. As she spends time with Rick, she does start to let her walls down.

The sexual tension is thick. Both want each other, but Rick doesn't know how to approach her to tell her he's falling for her. He's scared of his feelings. Quinn wants Rick desperately and feels safe with him, but has heard how he got his nickname. Quinn is not technically divorced from her husband and even though Rick suspects something has happened in Quinn's past, she up and leaves before he can convey his true feelings and find out any more about her emotional scars.

Yes, there is a Cliffhanger and Yes, I will be awaiting the next book in the series. I enjoyed the story line and the quick read. Actually wished this book was longer because I want to know where Quinn goes, if Rick finds her or if her Ex finds her first....
