Game ~ London Casey and Ana Fawkes

To save her life, I had to win the fight. To keep her alive, I'll have to get her pregnant. The second I see Shayna, I know she doesn’t deserve to be mixed up in this world. Innocent, beautiful... being used as a prize. She’s looking for answers in all the wrong places and I have to get her out of there. So I do what I do best: I fight and I win. When I take my prize home, my boss is waiting for me and gives me an ultimatum: get Shayna pregnant. If I don't, we both die. If I do it, he's going to snatch the baby away to replace his own lost grandchild. We aren’t supposed to fall for each other...but our time together becomes something more powerful than I could ever imagine. And when Shayna tells me she’s pregnant, I know one thing for sure… no one's taking our child away.

ARC Received in Exchange for an Honest Review.
While I enjoyed the characters, the plot line was a little difficult for me to hold on to. The idea that there are these two Mafioso types that are at war, so one takes his prized underground fighter and demands that he knocks up a woman who he thinks is connected to his enemy. While the Boss was a little off due to a recent loss of his own, the reasoning fell a little short for me.
That being said, Finn and Shayna have so hot, sparking chemistry. I mean it is insta-lust from the moment their eyes meet. The sex scenes definitely get you hot and as long as you’re not thinking of why they have to get it on, you can really enjoy their romps.

I love me a good fighter and Finn proves to be one time and again. He’s extremely loyal and that hurts his and Shayna’s connection for a bit, due to tragedy in his past. His best friend, Cormac is another sexy man with fierce loyalty and while he is “clean”, he would do anything for his brother. That Irish accent is sexy as hell too!

Shayna was in a bad situation due to her past which led her to the underground.  In the time she’s saving Finn, she holds a gun to him and we can tell she’s putting on a brave face, but she ends up making matters worse. All hell breaks loose and they have to get away from the underground fight and Finn's Boss's enemy, Zander.

The writing of the story is good, but the plot just left me wishing for more. I liked the characters, the action and sex scenes. Overall, the story was written well and was a quick read.

Calico ~ Callie Hart

Coralie

Twelve years ago, I ran to stay alive.

Port Royal, South Carolina, was my home. I was born there. I fell in love there. And I nearly died there. I never thought I’d go back. Now, after so many years, I have to return to bury the man who made my life a living hell. Some nights, I used to cry myself to sleep, praying my father would die. Other nights were different. Other nights, there was him.

Callan Cross.

My first confidante. My first kiss. My first love. My first everything: Callan was the glue that held me together when everything else was falling apart. He was my savior. He was there for me whenever I needed him…

Until he wasn’t.

Every night, I’ve seen the love of my life in my sleep.
I just never thought I’d have to face him again.

Callan

Twelve years ago, I f*#@ed up big time.

Living life through a camera lens is sometimes easier than dealing with it head on. Scratch that. It’s always easier. For over a decade, I’ve been a master of my art, taking photographs all over the world. Yet despite all of the countries I’ve visited, the amazing things I’ve seen, the beautiful women I’ve screwed, my heart has remained in pieces.

Coralie’s the only woman I’ve ever loved, will ever love. And I’m determined to show her that we’re meant to be together. Even if it means unearthing the bones of the past in the process.

A lifetime and a thousand miles have stood between us.
Now, there’s no length of time I won’t wait, no distance I won’t travel, in order to make her mine.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

I am a big Callie Hart fan, from the Blood and Roses series. I was not sure what to expect since I just signed up for Calico based on it being Callie Hart. I didn’t even read the blurb, just signed up for the ARC. I was not disappointed in the least.

Coralie and Callan have this history and connection that is overpowering. It is all consuming. From the first page, I could not put their story down.
Coralie is definitely a survivor, but I may not have agreed with how she just up and left Port Royal. While I could never understand what someone goes through that is mentally and physically abused, I can understand how helpless Callan must have felt when she left. They were inseparable; at least they were away from her father.

Callan is a dick, but he really isn’t. He’s just become that why since Coralie left. An amazing photographer, Callan thinks Coralie left because of his big screw up, but when he finds out the whole story; my heart just breaks with his. The heart he thought was gone is very much alive with Coralie, but can they get through their past and all their own secrets.

Callie is just a great writer. The flashbacks were easy to understand and while we jump around here and there, it was very easy to follow. The struggle that these two went through can be felt through the pages and hit me right in the feels. I was emotionally invested in Coralie and Callan and really enjoyed their story.

"Loving you is just part of what makes me who I am."

Clash ~ C.A. Harms

 photo Blurb Black Scratch_zpsljbvqx5c.png

It was time to fight back.

Time to live.

Too much of my life had already been taken from me by a man that should have protected me. At the hands of pure evil I have lived in fear. When most young women were learning to love, I was fighting to live.

I had broken free of the hate.

Finally getting the chance to feel what real love was, but with all good things, bad times seem to follow. At least for me it does. My name is Payton Walters and I refused to allow them anymore of my freedom.

I will not fall…

Not this time.

I don't even have to read the blurbs anymore. It's C.A. Harms. Intsa One-Click.

It amazes me when an author can write about a tragedy and really get in to the heads of the survivors. Because, that’s what Peyton is….a survivor.

For years she dealt with an abusive father after her mother left them and she just kept going. After one unforgivable night, Peyton runs to her best friend, Casey’s house, and her family takes her in. Her long time crush, Casey’s brother Dylan, becomes a protector and looks out for her as a brother would. But, Peyton wants Dylan to see her as more than a sister type.

When Dylan finally comes to terms with his feelings, and not the sisterly type, it may be too late. There are other men interested in Peyton and how can she be so sure she should give her heart to him.

Just when everything is moving along nicely, there are some threats, twists and OMG moments that had me wanting to finish the book to see what happens. But at the same time, I wanted it to keep going because it was a great story. Completely love Dylan for standing by and supporting Peyton and totally proud of Peyton for being an awesome woman.

“He was and would forever be the glue holding me together. He’s my foundation, my solidity, my world. And he would never let me fall.”

Mercy (Sin City Outlaws Book 2) ~ M.N. Forgy

I’m an outlaw. I don’t fall in love and I sure as fuck don't run... Until Jillian McAdams.
I fell for a law abiding Sheriff, breaking my vows to my own club, and turning her against her family of blue.

An outlaw and a sheriff, it can only end in one way… Mayhem.

Now we both have to pay the ultimate price for betraying our families.
I swore to kill my brother, his allegiance sworn to another club, if I ever saw him again.
Yet here I am running to him in hopes to save Jillian’s life…
We both will have to rewrite the rules we know to stay alive.
Even if it means we lose everything we had in doing so…

WOW!! I love Zeek! Mercy was intense and I couldn’t put it down. As much of an asshole that Zeek was trained, conditioned to be, there’s a good man in there. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a criminal, but he loves Jillian and would do anything for her.

When they go on the run, I knew they were going to go to Lip for help. I wasn’t sure of his reaction and I wasn’t sure if Jillian was every going to move past her anger. Zeek was put in a tough spot, but did what he had to do to protect Jillian.

Their love and passion are intense. As much as they shouldn’t be together, that pull between them is too fierce to ignore. I felt like I was on a roller coaster ride and not knowing what to expect next. I wanted to finish the book because I wanted to know what happened, but I wanted it to keep going because I love these characters.

OMG! I absolutely loved Paper Princess!!! I was completely engrossed in this book and didn’t want it to end. Now I have to wait for the next one!! ::Throws Temper Tantrum::

 photo 10718861_zpsjaivivar.gif

Ella Harper – You rock girl!! She’s a survivor all right and she is an enigma to this Royal boys. As much as Ella may cringe or hurt inside, she will break down before she ever lets any one see her struggle. I’m just so proud of her. The way she took care of her mother while she was ill was just heartbreaking and a testament to this girls huge heart. So while she throws off this hard as nails front, she really is a smart, loving and fun girl. She’s just never had a chance.

Reed Royal….Well all the Royals actually, scream sex, money and arrogance. Hello?! There are “Royal” decrees in their school, seriously?! Anyway, Reed Royal, one minute I want to punch him in the face and then next I want to hump his leg. But he and his family are completely fucked up, mentally and emotionally. The liquor and the ladies run freely here and the craziness that goes on within this house leaves me speechless.

That cliffy just made me want to stab people with a rusty spoon. This was the type of book where I had to know what was going to happen, so I ran through it, but now wishes it lasted longer. Gah! I want more Ella and the Royals!!!!
