Sigh! I love these two love birds. I could read about their romance and their friends all day. WedLocked was everything I wanted to see at the conclusion of this series.

Ace and Dylan are sexy, sweet and totally head over heels in love. Brooke and Ella did a fabulous job with their story and I just can't say enough good things about it.

While there were some characters I still wanted to stab with a rusty spoon (Brenda...GAG!), I felt nothing but happiness and joy for Ace and Dylan. Their bachelor party was one of the most fun times I have read and I wished that I could have attended a party like that. Their wedding.... Absolutely Gorgeous!!

Loved, Loved, Loved this happy, sweet, sexy read. Just makes me smile from ear to ear. #LoveisLove

Animal (A Prisoned Spinoff Standalone) ~Marni Mann

Yep! I think that about sums it up. LOL.

Wow, just Wow! There were lots of twists in this book that I was not expecting and there were others I was secretly hoping would happen. Marni does a great job on taking you through another mind f*%k with Animal.

Beard...Oh Beard. That sexy, hot, dirty man. He was super yummy, but I knew something had scared him. Something fierce. The things that man can do with a flat iron....ouch! But I still liked him. I wanted him to find his peace. His mind was so warped, I wasn't sure if he would ever find it.

Tye....Girl. While I understand certain motivating circumstances, the situation she finds herself in is just f*&ked! I could feel her love and sadness pouring out of my kindle. This girl was in some awful predicaments so I was hopeful she too would find something that made her happy, but not take her life.

I know I have been very vague, but I don't want to give too much away. You just have to read this and go on the roller coaster ride too. Let me warn you, this is a dark, dirty, sexy and wild read. The gifs above say it all. Not for the faint at heart, but totally worth it!

Rooke ~ Callie Hart

 photo Synopsis black scratch_zpst2tpkl6v.png
Watchmaker. Car thief. Heartbreaker extraordinaire.

Rooke Blackheath has spent enough time in juvie to know that he really doesn’t want to go to jail. The food sucks, the clothes itch, and there are absolutely no women in sight. Well…none he wants to fuck, anyway.

He should probably stop boosting cars, but the money is stellar and the high is out of this world. And why should he turn his back on something that sets his soul on fire anyway?

The answer to that question comes in an unexpected form: a petite five-foot-three firecracker named Sasha who refuses to give him the time of day no matter how thick he lays on the charm.

Rooke’s not easily deterred, though. Just like the watches he builds from scratch, Rooke knows all too well how women tick. Women are a game to him. A game he always wins.

Sasha doesn’t stand a chance.

***

Sasha Cross’s life has been permanently derailed since her son died five years ago. You wouldn’t know it to look at her, of course. She has a great job, a beautiful house, and caring friends. Every week, she hosts a book club featuring the sexiest, most romantic stories on the planet, and every week she falls for a new fictional knight in shining armor.

Fictional men are perfect, though. They don’t hurt you. They don’t break your heart. They don’t cheat on you after your child dies, and they rarely ever leave the toilet seat up.

When Rooke Blackheath shows up at Sasha's workplace, it’s clear he’s nothing like the men who grace the pages of Sasha's favorite books. Dangerous, arrogant, sharp-tongued and sarcastic, Rooke’s not the kind of guy she needs in her life. Not to mention the fact that he’s eleven years her junior.

They don’t live in different worlds. As far as Sasha is concerned, Rooke lives in a different galaxy altogether. She’d like to keep it that way, but fate appears to have other plans.

When Cinderella lost her shoe, Prince Charming showed up at her door.

When Sasha Cross loses her book, an entirely different kind of rogue comes a-knocking.

I have to say after reading the first chapter, I though this book would go in a completely different direction. To say there are some twists and drama, is an understatement. There’s a lot going on in this book and I think this book could have been split up in to a couple different books.

Rooke is an alpha hottie, no doubt. He seems older than his 23 years, but that could be because of his time in Juvi and the experiences he has had in his past. He has his own demons and unsavory people in his life that could affect their relationship or even the start of one.

While Sasha can’t seem to get past her own tragedy, Rooke is the calm to her freak-outs and is the only person to break down her walls. Her tragedy is definitely a tragedy that most could not overcome and she seems to have a lot happen to her for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

This is an action-packed story with a lot of different things going on and it seemed to wrap up rather quickly. I would have loved more of the two of them and maybe more of the backstory of Sasha’s past. I’d even like more of Rooke’s past and what has made him so angry, even before the stent in Juvi. Still love Callie and her writing, but wanted more with Rooke.

Riot (Scarred Souls #4) ~ Tillie Cole

Synopsis

Stolen by the Arziani Georgian crime mob as a child, 152 was raised and conditioned to be a Mona—the most subservient of the Arziani Blood Pit slaves.

Gorgeous and kind, she has been and under the imprisoning influence of the Type B drug and under the command of the Blood Pit Master’s sister, Mistress Arziani, for most of her life, until the Master calls her back home to Georgia.

He wants her under his total control, and Master always gets what he wants.

But when 152 is gifted to the Blood Pit’s fearsome champion death match fighter as a prize, 152 suddenly finds out that the men who appear most brutal, may just own the kindest hearts. And love may be found, even when living in hell.

Freedom, family, love, 152 will have to fight for what she wants and ultimately make an impossible choice.

Powerful. Emotional. Hopeful.

Riot was all of those things and more. At times I found myself cheering out loud for 901 and 152. Their own personal histories and hell is something no one should have to go through, yet they both did so alone, for so long.

The Blood Pit was horrible and disgusting. The thought of either, 901 or 152, making it out of their alive was a fantasy. They could only have their stolen moments, that were sometimes riddled with the drugs "Master" would inject them with. It was a sad and depressing existence.  Yet, they still found a way to care and be hopeful. They found a way to fight back, even if it was just with words to harm their "Master."

I absolutely love Tillis's writting. I know whenever I pick up one of her books I am going to enjoy it. You can tell the emotion and love she pours in to each page because you are just as emotional as the characters. You become invested in them, as I did with 901 and 152, They were more than a number and they had each other. This book was powerful and emotional, and at the end of reading it, I felt such pride for all the characters that went through the gulags and blood pit. They had values and character that I wish more real life people have.

Riley Tennyson has made a huge mistake.

At least, that’s what she keeps telling herself.

Showing up to her brother’s wedding pissed off and newly single, Riley seeks comfort in solitude and an open bar, until the gorgeous and irresistibly charming CJ Tully makes her a better offera wild night with the master of smooth-talking where nothing is off limits.

Riley does what any single woman would do, and a connection is made. One neither one of them can ignore. But when she comes home to the boyfriend she no longer thought she had, Riley buries her secret and begs CJ to do the same.

Forget about each other. It was a mistake. That’s all it was… right?

Desires are hidden. Distance is kept. Until one night CJ makes the ultimate sacrifice, and Riley can no longer avoid the man she can’t stop thinking about.

Not with him sleeping down the hall…

I absolutely love J. Daniels’ characters!! CJ and Riley are so freaking gorgeous and so awesome together. They are goofy and silly, while still hot and steamy. The path that led them together wasn’t necessary an ideal one, but it still led them to each other none the less. The amount of guilt Riley consumes herself with is understandable but not warranted. She was in a tough spot and I’m just happy CJ was there to help her.

CJ Tully! Gah! Where are those guys in real life?!? The whole time reading this book I could not stop thinking how scorching hot he is and that he’s such a great guy. He’s willing to take whatever Riley will give him, even if it’s just friendship. He still protects her and looks after her even when he doesn’t think it’s the best idea. He’s respectful, sweet, silly, but still has a wonderful dirty mouth.

Riley is such a sweet heart. She’s shy and reserved, yet get some tequila in her and all bets are off. She knows she cares for CJ more than she should but is constantly trying to do the right things for others, but not herself. She’s selfless and humble. I knew she was falling for CJ hard and fast, but how does she keep things professional and friendly? How does she tell her brother or not tell her brother? All while she and CJ have this electric connection.

This book was fun to read and was easy for me to fly through in one day. It was well written and kept me glued to the pages. I’m such a huge fan of J. Daniels’ work and this is another great addition.

Risk and Reward ~ Rachael Duncan

 photo goodreads_zpsoy7n703h.png

 photo Synopsis black scratch_zpst2tpkl6v.png
Grass isn't always greener...

DIVORCE.

I never dreamed this would become my reality.
But it is.
After feeling neglected and alone for far too long, I end it,
Blindsiding my husband in the process.
He's hurt, torn, and confused,
Never expecting me to leave.
His pain tears at my heart, begs me to stay.
And I almost do.
Almost.

Moving on isn't as easy as it seems.
The memories tap at my conscience,
Reminding me of what I'm missing,
What I used to have.
But, I walked away,
From the man I promised forever,
Possibly making the worst mistake of my life.

I've let go, given myself a promise of a new life, new hope.

But does the other side have more risk than reward? photo Review Black Scratch_zpspsc2gzcp.png

Warning: Emotional Roller Coaster!

 photo XoWgDve_zps6sdcjifc.gif

I read Risk and Reward in one day. I loved it. Rachael tackles the hard topic of divorce and the effects that it has on both parties. While the story is in Charlotte’s view, we see what her decision does to Nate. This book also tells us what we put our significant others through. While not meaning to, many of us take advantage of what our partner in life is giving us. The comfort, companionship…..it’s always there so we don’t necessarily go the extra mile like we do at the beginning of a relationship. The “I Love Yous” become a regular thing and don’t have the excitement and it doesn’t cause the same flutters like they used to.

Rachael really dives in to what both characters did to cause their marriage to break up. Unfortunately, Charlotte doesn’t realize what she didn’t do to help their case until it was possibly too late. She was so determined to move on, I mean kudos to her, but her anger clouded where she could have gone wrong too.

I think Nate realizes exactly what he did wrong as soon as Charlotte utters the words “I want a divorce.” That being said, he knows his wife and knows she won’t listen to a word he says, so he sets out to prove how much she means to him. Charlotte’s stubbornness and determination pushes her to move out, get a new job and think that she is over Nate, which makes it difficult for him to complete what he needs to.

I rooted for Charlotte and Nate from the beginning. You could see from flashbacks how in love they were and all the time they shared together. The ups and downs, with the downs being really hard. The time apart from each other was emotional and dramatic. That’s why I say this is an emotional roller coaster. Hits you right in the feels.

I love Rachael’s writing. I have thoroughly enjoyed the last 3 books I have read of hers. They keep me interested and wondering what would happen next. I cannot wait for the next story in this series!!
