Synopsis

As one of the most prestigious wedding coordinators in Los Angeles, Paige Iris Traynor-Ashcroft is known for being classy, elegant, and the orchestrator of many happily-ever-afters. But in the words of Paige herself: “What a crock of shiitake.” Known affectionately (or not) as P.I.T.A. to those closest to her, she’s never been one to buy into the whole monogamy thing for herself. Sure, her BFFs are getting picked off by Cupid one by one, but his arrows have nothing on her semiautomatic. Richard “Dick” Dawson does his best to live up to his name. A long-time frenemy and manwhore extraordinaire, he thrives on pushing limits, pushing up skirts—and pushing every single one of Paige’s buttons. He’s the itch she can’t scratch, and doesn’t want to. Or does she? What happens when blazing-hot rage turns to crazy, unexplainable lust? Surely not...love? Because that would just be a total P.I.T.A.

Review

I F-Loved PITA!! I honestly couldn't get enough of Paige and Dawson. They love to hate each other. But through all that hate, I could see they both wanted each other. I felt like "Dirty Dick" wanted Paige(PITA) for a long, long time. I could feel his desire and longing. Let's be honest, I could totally feel Paige's love and longing as well, but she denied and suppressed the feelings for so long I wasn't sure she was going to be able to pull her head out of her ass!

Their feisty attitudes and quick witted comebacks constantly had me on the edge of my seat about what would happen next. Dawson was perfect for Paige since he didn't take her shit and she didn't take his. I knew that something had to have happened in their past for the two of them to bite each others' heads off like they did. But that did make for some super hot and steamy sexual angst.

I love Brooke's writing and could hang out with all her characters. This story is my favorite of the LA Liaisons series and I would love to have kept reading about Paige and Dawson. Brooke's stories are excellent and entertaining. I cannot wait for the next one. Love her!

Synopsis

CHARMED FOR LIFE?

Thanos Agapiou has always been a charmer. For over two millennia, the vampire had no problem acquiring whom and what he wanted with a flash of his handsome smile. He took for granted the boyish good looks he presumed he’d possess for the rest of eternity.

How very wrong he was.

A nearly fatal attack distorted his entire existence. With his appearance now matching the title many have bestowed their kind—monster—he hides away from the world and all of those who know him, including his Ancient, Eton.
Until one night when a stranger draws him out from the shadows.

OR CURSED FOR ETERNITY?

Ever since Paris Antoniou was thrust into a world of vampires, his reality has become stranger than the history and the myths he’s studied for the past decade.

When he learns the truth about his origins and the power he wields, his confusion and fear have him running for his life. What he doesn’t expect is to run into the arms of Thanos—a vampire who doesn’t intimidate him as much as he intrigues him.

WHAT HAS THE POWER TO MAKE YOU WANT TO SURVIVE?

As their worlds collide under extraordinary circumstances, an attraction neither can deny takes hold. But will that be enough to save Thanos from his demons, or will he condemn Paris to his fate?

Destinies have been changed. Lines have been crossed. And, with tales of the vampire race coming to an end, who will make the ultimate sacrifice?
After all, in a world run by vampires and gods, only one can be the true Master among the Monsters.

Review

I was totally looking forward to Thanos. I needed to know what his deal was. Why his relationship with his Ancient was the way it was and how Paris fit in to the scheme of things. Ella did not disappoint!

I really enjoyed that all the characters were in each of the books of the series. As of late, a lot of other authors have completed a series, but each book is based on one character. I liked this change where the series included a glimpse in to all the characters lives. Each character was written superbly and you couldn't help but love them and want more.

The blood, violence, sex and drama completely sucked (no pun intended) me in. The vampires, the paranormal culture with a peak at the past and the love that grew between all of them was expertly written. There were times I needed a cold shower and then other times where I just wanted to comfort them.

Thanos's past and the choices (if you call them that) he had to make broke my heart and made me angry. Yet the whole time I could feel Eton's love for him. I knew as time went on that Thanos did have a love for Eton, but also couldn't ignore his attraction to Paris. What a tangled web we weave.

The only negative I could say is that I wanted more. I wanted more of Thanos, Eton and Paris, of Isadora, Diomedes and Elias and Leo, Alasdair and Vasillios. I wanted more of that vampire and greek culture because it was written so well. The biting, the sexual abandon, the history and the love...I just wanted more.

Egomaniac ~ Vi Keeland

 photo Synopsis black scratch_zpst2tpkl6v.png

The night I met Drew Jagger, he’d just broken into my new Park Avenue office.
I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills.
He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing.

Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant.
Only, turned out, he wasn’t an intruder at all.

Drew was the rightful occupant of my new office.  He’d been on vacation while his posh space was renovated.
Which was how a scammer got away with leasing me office space that wasn’t really available for rent.
I was swindled out of ten grand.

The next day, after hours at the police station, Drew took pity on me and made me an offer I couldn’t refuse.  In exchange for answering his phones while his secretary was out, he’d let me stay until I found a new place.
I probably should have acted grateful and kept my mouth shut when I overheard the advice he was spewing to his clients.  But I couldn’t help giving him a piece of my mind.
I never expected my body to react every time we argued.  Especially when that was all we seemed to be able to do.

The two of us were complete opposites. Drew was a bitter, angry, gorgeous-as-all-hell, destroyer of relationships.  And my job was to help people save their marriages.
The only thing the two of us had in common was the space we were sharing.
And an attraction that was getting harder to deny by the day.

Egomaniac was super fun, sexy, sarcastic and emotional. Drew and Emerie are fun and flirtatious characters you can’t help but love. Their dynamic is hilarious from the start. I love how rude and arrogant Drew is, but still lovable. Emerie is quirky and finds herself in awkward situations. She cracks me up and the spot she has herself in with Drew is an interesting one.
The side of Drew that we don’t see initially breaks my heart. The reason he is so bitter and single-minded to end marriages makes me super angry for him. His belief that relations ships can’t work is just sad. Considering Emerie’s job is to keep marriages together.  Can we say “Irony”?
When Drew lets Emerie stay, she realizes there’s more behind the sexy body and the arrogant attitude. He has a huge heart, that and the fact that they get all feisty when they argue. Talk about super-hot!  These two sizzle, so I was hoping all they could get though all the drama because they fit each other so well.

I always enjoy Vi’s writing. She makes you love the main characters and want to punch their adversaries in the face. The story is easy flowing and I flew through the book quickly.

Dawn of Eve (Trilogy of Eve #3) ~ Pam Godwin

When I first picked up this series to read, I couldn’t put it down. It gripped me from the first few chapters. Pam’s writing is smooth and easy to follow. Even with flash backs, it’s easy to pick up where the characters are and what is happening. Absolutely loved this series and Dawn of Eve is a great conclusion.

Dawn of Eve is all about Dawn. She’s beautiful, smart and trained to fight. She is a lethal weapon, but only human. If you were hoping to see more of the gorgeous sexy guardians, well you’re in luck, because they are in here, but the spotlight is on Dawn. Well Dawn and her way to save mankind. Salem is one hot, lethal, sexy man that I wanted to pound one minute and then pound him with my fists the next. Dawn can feel that Salem is the connection to what she has to do to save the world, she just can’t figure out what she has to do.

There are lots of emotions running through this book. Happiness, deceit, hurt, love, triumph and defeat. I felt like I was on a constant roller coaster. Pam makes you fall in love with these characters and when they screw up, you feel completely devastated and disappointed with them. At the same time, when Dawn matures and learns what she has to do to save everyone, you feel nothing but pride.

There’s blood, gore, fighting, sex, mystery, angst and turmoil all through this story. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. I found myself wanting to hurry up to finish the book to see what happens, but also wanting to savor it because I knew it was the last of the series. I could have read more about these characters, but alas, all good things must come to an end. A very emotional, uplifting, excruciating, powerful ending.

Never The Bride (Dilbury Village #1) ~ Charlotte Fallowfield

   photo Blurb Black Scratch_zpsljbvqx5c.png

Abbie Carter felt doomed as she clutched her bouquet and started walking up the aisle. Again. She felt like she was stuck in some kind of Groundhog Day wedding nightmare. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. Eight dresses, most of them hideous, were already stuffed in her attic space. She had more bridesmaid dresses than relationships. Was she really that unlucky in love? She despaired of ever finding her soul mate and was convinced that if she packed away dress thirteen in her attic, she’d never get to wear the coveted white one and have her happy ever after.

That was until she locked eyes with one of the handsome ushers, whose wink turned her elegant and well-practiced glide up the aisle into a flailing Bambi-on-ice spectacle. Miller Davis was the first man in forever to make her heart skip a beat, as well as her legs turn to jelly. And, for once, her interest in a man didn’t seem to be one-sided. It was just a shame that the Atlantic Ocean separated them. Abbie couldn’t even make a relationship with her elderly fat pooch, Sumo, work, so what chance did she have with a permanent New Yorker? Her best friend, Georgie, told her to ignore the miles that separated her from Miller and to go for it, saying that true love knew no bounds.

Was Abbie fated to always be the bridesmaid, or would her wish for the perfect day with the man of her dreams ever come true?

While Never The Bride is a standalone story, it's the first in the Dilbury Village series of romantic comedy novels. All of them will be set in the quaint ficticious English hamlet in the Shropshire countryside, but feature a different village couples' story.
photo Review Black Scratch_zpspsc2gzcp.png photo silver 4.5 stars_zpschgwimf2.png

Abbie and Miller’s story was hilarious. I was giggling and laughing out loud from the first chapter on. While versions of the plot have been told before, I loved Charlotte’s take. Her writing is so much fun and the story is uplifting with a bunch of feels.

There are some great characters in this book.  Abbie and Miller are definitely the main ones, who I absolutely love, but we are also introduced to some crazy, catty, annoying, charming and lovable people. There were spots where I would want to punch certain characters in the face and others that I just wanted to cry for. Not that there is a lot of crying, but Abbie and Miller’s story, along with their friends, hits you right in the feels.

Some of the situation that Abbie gets herself in, I can’t even imagine how the author came up with those. All I can say is #turdgate. Read the book and your cackle out loud like I did. Mr. Sumo is another character in Abbie’s life that I just wanted to squeeze, but also caused Abbie some of her quirky moments. I know I’ve gotten in to some silly situations with my girlfriends, but Abbie’s blunders, falls, and disasters are a riot.

I knew there was more to Miller than meets the eye and his connection with Abbie could be felt through the pages.  While he kept quiet about who he really is, once we find out, I can understand why. The love Abbie and Millie share is what all couples wish for, but the ocean separating them definitely takes its toll. I was rooting for them the whole time, while wanting to reach through my kindle and slap the haters in the face.

I cannot wait for the next books in the series to see what happens with the other characters in Dillbury Village. This series looks to be a lot of fun with tons of laughs and lots of feels.
